Troubleshooting
Google sign-in and property connections
Google’s screens appear only when you connect Search Console or Google Analytics. You sign in to Querywright itself with your email and password.
“Google connection was not completed. Try connecting again.”
Google Analytics shows “Google Analytics connection was not completed. Try connecting again.”
What it means. Google’s screen was canceled, or the return to Querywright did not complete.
What to do. Press Connect Google (or Connect Google Analytics) again and finish on Google’s screen, in the same browser where you are signed in to Querywright.
What it is not. Nothing half-connected is saved. Existing connections and imports are unchanged.
The property list is empty or your property is missing
What it means for Search Console. Compatible Google property lists only properties that cover the site’s exact address and that this Google account has verified access to:
- A Domain property covers its domain and every subdomain.
- A URL-prefix property must match the site’s scheme and host exactly.
https://www.example.com/does not coverhttps://example.com, andhttp://does not coverhttps://. - A URL-prefix property for a folder, such as
https://example.com/blog/, does not cover the whole site. - A property where your access is unverified is left out.
What it means for Google Analytics. GA4 property lists every property this Google account can read. If yours is missing, this Google account has no access to it.
What to do.
- Check which Google account the connection uses. If you have several, choose the right one in Google connection or Google Analytics connection.
- If the property belongs to another Google account, press Connect Google (or Connect Google Analytics) and approve with that account.
- For Search Console, add or verify a property that covers the site in Search Console, or add the site in Querywright with the exact address your property covers. See Sites.
- For Google Analytics, ask the property’s administrator to give your Google account access to it, then open the list again.
What it is not. Querywright does not hide properties by name, and it never picks a property for you.
“Accessible properties could not be loaded. Reconnect Google if authorization expired.”
Google Analytics shows “Readable properties could not be loaded. Reconnect Google Analytics if authorization expired.”
What it means. Querywright could not get the property list from Google with this connection, usually because Google no longer accepts its authorization.
What to do. Press Connect Google (or Connect Google Analytics) and approve again with the same Google account, then choose the property.
What it is not. Your saved history is not affected.
A connection reads “Needs reconnection”
The Google connection list shows a connection as “Needs reconnection”, and sites that use it show “Import needs attention” with “Google access needs to be reconnected.” (for Google Analytics, “Google Analytics access needs to be reconnected.”).
What it means. Google stopped accepting Querywright’s authorization for that connection, for example after access was revoked in your Google Account. Imports for every site using that connection are paused.
What to do. In the site’s Bound property box, press Reconnect Google (or Reconnect Google Analytics) and approve with the same Google account. Querywright resumes each site with its saved history and import progress.
What it is not. You don’t need to remove the connection or choose the property again. Reconnecting keeps each site’s import where it was.
“Google connection repaired.” but some sites remain paused
The full message names how many sites resumed and how many “remain paused because the Google account cannot access their bound properties”.
What it means. You reconnected with a Google account that can open some of the properties but not all of them.
What to do. For each site still paused, restore that Google account’s access to the property in Search Console, then press Reconnect Google again. Or reconnect with the Google account that has access.
What it is not. The resumed sites are fine, and the history of the paused ones is kept.
“No bound sites resumed. This Google account cannot access their properties. Reconnect Google with an account that owns them.”
Google Analytics shows “No bound sites resumed. This Google account cannot read their properties. Reconnect with an account that can.”
What it means. The Google account you approved cannot open any of the properties those sites use.
What to do. Press Reconnect Google (or Reconnect Google Analytics) and approve with the Google account that has access to the properties.
What it is not. Nothing was removed. The sites keep their history and import progress.
“This Google account can no longer access the property.”
Google Analytics shows “This Google account can no longer read the property.” Both appear under “Import needs attention”, with “Restore Google access to this property, then reconnect to resume its saved import progress.”
What it means. The Google account behind the connection lost access to that one property, for example after it was removed as a user.
What to do. Restore the account’s access to the property in Search Console or Google Analytics. Then press Reconnect Google (or Reconnect Google Analytics) for the site.
What it is not. Other sites using the same connection keep importing.
“Add a site with a production URL to connect Search Console.”
Google Analytics shows “Add a site with a production URL to connect Google Analytics.”
What it means. You have no active site to connect yet.
What to do. Add the site in Settings → Sites, then come back. See Sites.
You want to revoke Querywright’s access at Google
What to do. Removing a connection in Querywright deletes the credential Querywright stored, but it does not revoke the authorization at Google. To revoke it, use your Google Account security settings. Imports for sites using that connection then pause with “Import needs attention”.
What it is not. Revoking does not delete the Search Console or Analytics history already saved in Querywright.
